This is a project that commenced in 2004 for over 400 guests and for which we have been employed each year to complete since then.  This project always has very short lead times.  We devise a marketing campaign to promote to employers and young people undertaking Apprenticeships, the benefit of applying for an Award.  2004 was the first year that the Awards had been run and the number of applications far outweighed expectations.  Also with an audience of over 400 for the first year of an event, the promotion must have worked.

The event has grown year on year and we have now negotiated successfully to link the East Midlands Awards with the National Apprenticeship Awards.  We are involved in all aspects of event management including sorting all AV equipment, speaker liaison, judging the awards, generating applications, dealing with all colleges and training providers across the East Midlands and working with an organising committee.

The links with the National Apprenticeship Awards is exceptionally significant with these Awards as we have managed to negotiate that all of our East Midlands applications can be submitted to the National Awards, something that has not happened in previous years.

This is an event that we are exceptionally passionate about.  Work Based Learning and Apprenticeships are fundamental to ensuring that all young people have an opportunity to learn and access the best training methods that suit them.  This is an event that all HeadStorm staff get fully involved with and are proud to be associated with.  We get to know all of the applicants and their achievements and life journeys are tremendous.
